I will kill the spider for you!

I'm an early retiree, in-shape accountant and retired Armor Officer from the Massachusetts National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve.

I am a nice and intelligent guy looking to meet a nice and intelligent lady who would enjoy some stimulating conversation over dinner and a drink or two. Longer term, I'm looking to find that one special person who enjoys hanging around with me, for a long term relationship. In some ways I hate online dating. That's because it often feels like I am shopping for someone on Amazon. However, please put me in your cart and I promise you that shipping is free.

It seems that everyone on this site says that they're the best horse in the corral since Secretariat, but I won't insult your intelligence by adding superlatives about myself. I'm not a disinterested third party you know, and I'm not going to throw some baloney at you to make a sale. What I will say is that I'm a nice, in- shape guy, with a wild sense of humor. I'm looking for someone who is kind, has a friendly disposition, has a positive outlook on life and is drama free. Meeting a lady who likes to be active and loves to walk- jog and hike would be ideal. Of course I'm looking for a hot woman who thinks I'm hot as well.

I like to eat out at restaurants and like to stay in shape. I usually power walk - jog two miles about five times per week. I haven't been skiing lately because my bindings broke, but I just bought new skis. I have many other interests and would be more than willing to explore a wide variety of activities.

The following is an excerpt from my favorite speech "Have Faith in Massachusetts" by then Massachusetts Senate President and then soon to be President Calvin Coolidge. I think it may help you get a better understanding of my philosophical beliefs:

" We need a broader, firmer, deeper faith in the people; A faith that men desire to do right, that the Commonwealth is founded upon a righteousness which will endure, a reconstructed faith that the final approval of the people is given not to demagogues, slavishly pandering to their selfishness, merchandising with the clamor of the hour, but to statesmen, ministering to their welfare, representing their deep, silent, abiding convictions.

Statutes must appeal to more than material welfare. Wages won't satisfy, be they never so large. Nor houses; nor lands; nor coupons, though they fall thick as the leaves of autumn.

Man has a spiritual nature. Touch it, and it must respond as the magnet responds to the pole. To that, not to selfishness, let the laws of the Commonwealth appeal. Recognize the immortal worth and dignity of man. Let the laws of Massachusetts proclaim to her humblest citizen, performing the most menial task, the recognition of his manhood, the recognition that all men are peers, the humblest with the most exalted, the recognition that all work is glorified."

Is that an awesome and inspiring quote or what?

On a humorous note:

What do you call a person who has abandoned their strict diet??? - A Desserter... ৠ

What does a nosy pepper do? - It gets jalapeño business.

What does a nosy pepper do when it's angry? It gets jalapeño face.

Why did the banana go out with the prune? Because he couldn't get a date.

This is my favorite song- it's "Higher Love" by Steve Winwood (1987):

Think about it, there must be higher love
Down in the heart or hidden in the stars above
Without it, life is a wasted time
Look inside your heart, I'll look inside mine
Things look so bad everywhere
In this whole world, what is fair?
We walk blind and we try to see
Falling behind in what could be

Bring me a higher love
Bring me a higher love
Bring me a higher love

I will wait for it; I'm not too late for it
Until then, I'll sing my song
To cheer the night along

Bring me a higher love; Bring me a higher love

Where's that higher love I keep thinking of?
